What is an I-box? What do I need?

You need:
- an i-box subscription
- any ordinary phone & phone connection
- any broadband internet connection

Your i-box will plug into any broadband connection (for example Cable, DSL, T1 line) and any telephone connection available to you. You will receive a number with your service that you can use from wherever you are. You can take your number and the i-box with you when you move and travel, all you need is a phone line and broadband internet access at your destination.

What is Voice- Over- IP?

Voice-over-IP (VoIP) is the two-way transmission of audio signals over a packet-switched IP (TCP/IP) network. VoIP usually refers to the transport of the audio signal over the public internet, the internet backbone of a Telecommunications carrier, private wide area network (WAN) or intranet.

Does the i-box replace my existing phone service?

No. The i-box is an enhancement to your existing phone service, not a replacement. It allows you to choose between the two, for long distance use the i-box, for local calls use your existing service. Another big advantage of the i-box is that you can now make more than one call at a time so you effectively get a second phone line for free.

How difficult is it to set-up and configure the i-box?

Very simple. You will be emailed the instructions along with your unique i-box phone number and password. Simply access the i-box website and follow the instructions to set up your i-box service.

Does i-box work with VPN’s (Virtual Private Network) & ‘firewalls’?

Yes.

How is the sound quality of the i-box?

The i-box delivers telco (telephone company) voice call quality. Your friends or business associates will not even know you are calling them over the Internet until you tell them.

What am I paying for?

Your i-box community membership is charged on a flat monthly fee and provides you with full access. This fee will be based on the service plan you selected with the help of your i-box partner. Calls made to the i-box community are unlimited and FREE. Calls that you make to non-i-box community members using the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) will be charged by the minute at a preferred long-distance rate available through your i-box community membership.

What are the costs per minute in the same country, Germany for example?

If your call is within the i-box community the call is FREE. If you are calling outside the i-box community, the cost per minute is determined by the country you are calling into. If it is the same country, you still pay the rate for that country as listed on the i-box member special long-distance rate tables.

Are i-box services different from other voice-over-the-Internet offerings?

The i-box service is the only world-wide service that offers Free Unlimited calls within the i-box community. Some of the unique features include world-wide portable access to i-box community services, free second phone line, no need for a computer or router (NAT), and access over any standard phone and broadband equipment. With the i-box service you will also be provided with access to the only world-wide converged data and voice network managed to offer state-of-the-art VoIP quality.

Can I use the i-box with my business PBX?

Yes. The i-box is ideally suited for the needs of consumers, small offices and home offices. We are developing additional models for the needs of larger business users.

 

I collaborate frequently with one or two business associates. How can I cut costs?

Cutting costs is a simple matter with the i-box. Remember, calling i-box to i-box is absolutely free. If all your working associates have an i-box subscription, you’ll never see a long distance bill again, regardless of how long you talk.

What are the costs per minute from Europe to India?

If your call is within the i-box community the call is FREE. If you are calling outside the i-box community, the cost per minute is determined by the country you are calling into. You will pay the rate for India as listed on the i-box member special long-distance rate tables. It does not matter what country you are calling from.

Long-Distance Services

Long-distance services allow customers to make telephone calls that terminate in a local service area other than the area from which the call originates. These calls include international and regional long-distance calling. Long-distance calls are often routed over a series of connected but separately owned and operated PSTN networks. Switching equipment routes the calls and records traffic volume in terms of MOUs, in order to settle intra-carrier revenue distribution.

USING I-BOX :

Do I still have to dial 011 to make International calls?

Yes. Your long distance calling pre-fixes do not change.

Can I use my I-box from anywhere?

Yes. i-box can be accessed from anywhere in the World, not just North-America. It replaces the need for any calling cards from and to anywhere in the world.

Is there a warranty on the i-box?

Yes. One year from activation date.

What is the i-box phone number?

The i-box number resembles a standard phone number in order to make i-box dialing more intuitive for subscribers. It is actually an internet telephone number which allows access to the I-box Network.

Where can I use the i-box?

You can plug your i-box into any broadband Internet connection and begin using the service. Not only do you immediately reap the benefits of huge long distance savings but with your assigned IP telephone number you can receive incoming calls from any other i-box on the Aditech network, for free.
